About Our Church

Lighthouse Fellowship Church, formerly known as Deliverance Temple was founded in September 2007 by Pastor Myron Boyd. From the very beginning until the present time, God has blessed this ministry to grow and to be a place where people from all walks of life can enhance their relationship with God and develop a greater knowledge and understanding of their individual purpose in life.

We are an ordinary group of people with extraordinary potential. We are united through various walks of life with one main objective: "Glorifying God".

We strive to improve and mature as individual Christians while pressing to have a positive impact as the light of the world in this portion of God's vineyard. We hope to provide inspiration to others in seeking their rightful place in the Kingdom of God.

Statistics show that the various problems which take place in our communities are in some way or another related to, and associated with the breakdown of the home. We promote and encourage strong family building. We believe and teach that all families should establish a support system in areas such as ministry, work, education, recreation, and hobbies.

Our Mission

Our main purpose at Lighthouse Fellowship Church is to glorify God, and to live a life that is both holy and righteous to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This type of lifestyle is made possible only if we follow the specific instructions that are outlined for us throughout the Holy Word of God. We believe that as a person begins their Christian journey, they can be totally free and delivered from addictive habits, strong-holds, unhealthy environments, and any other type of bondage that may have existed in the past.

Here at the Lighthouse we reach out to members, friends, and visitors with positive teaching and preaching from the word of God. As we grow, our vision includes being able to provide various means of assistance to the community. We aim to be a very positive influence in the lives of those in the Marietta and surrounding areas, by spreading the good news of Jesus Christ and by showing that this ministry is a place that Emphasizes Christ, Develops Character & Builds Long-Lasting Connections!

What We Believe

God

We believe in one true God, the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has revealed Himself as Father in creation, Son in redemption, and Holy Spirit at work in the world today. God is eternal, all-powerful, holy, and merciful. He hears prayer and saves all who believe and obey His Word.

Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is God manifested in the flesh . . . fully God and fully man. Born of the virgin Mary, He lived a sinless life and gave Himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins. He rose from the dead, ascended into Heaven, and will return as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Salvation and all spiritual authority are found in the Name of Jesus, and all we do is to be done in His Name.

Holy Ghost

The Holy Ghost is the Spirit of God active in the lives of believers today. He provides power for living, guidance, understanding of spiritual truth, and comfort. The baptism of the Holy Ghost is the infilling of God’s Spirit, given as a gift, and is the foundation for spiritual gifts.

Salvation

Salvation is a gift of God, received by grace through faith in Jesus Christ. All people are sinners and must be reconciled to God by obeying the Gospel. Saving faith is expressed through repentance, baptism in the Name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and receiving the Holy Ghost with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues. This experience is the New Birth.

The Bible

We believe the Old and New Testaments are the inspired, infallible Word of God and the final authority in all spiritual matters. The Bible reveals God’s plan of salvation and provides guidance for Christian living.

Repentance

Repentance is a sincere turning away from sin and turning toward God. It is essential to salvation and was preached by John the Baptist, Jesus, and the apostles.

Water Baptism

Water baptism by immersion in the Name of Jesus Christ is an essential part of the salvation experience. It identifies the believer with Christ’s burial and is a demonstration of saving faith following repentance.

Baptism of the Holy Spirit

The baptism of the Holy Spirit is promised to believers and was first experienced in Acts 2. Those who receive the Holy Spirit are empowered to live a victorious Christian life, with the biblical sign of speaking in other tongues as the Spirit gives utterance.
